McCartney at Wrigley?

The Sun Times published the rumors I've been hearing, which is that they have two dates set aside at Wrigley for Paul McCartney concerts later this summer. (Details here).

I should note that nothing is being confirmed, but...it sure sounds like it really could happen. There will be suckers willing to pay quite a lot of money for tickets to see that show. I look in the mirror at one of them every day.

Paul is engaged again

Paul McCartney is engaged to be married again, but there are a few hopeful signs that this one will work out.

#1--she's 51. That's still younger than Paul (pushing 70), but waaay closer to his actual age than the last hussy.

#2--his kids approve. Anyone that has ever been re-married will tell you that's a huge hurdle to overcome.

I bet Sir Paul will make this one sign a prenup too.

Steven Tyler Releases New Book - Talks about Idol, and Doing Drugs with Joe Perry in Rolling Stone Cover

Remember back in 2008 when Aerosmith announced they were working on a new album?

Remember when they said the project had been scrapped, and so had the tour, and that the band was breaking up?

Now we are getting a little more insight on what was happening to the band during those years in Tyler’s new book “Does the noise in my head bother you?”

The Aerosmith front man and American Idol judge will be on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine next month and said the book was,

"the unbridled truth, the in-your-face, up-close and prodigious tale of Steven Tyler straight from the horse's lips ... All the unexpurgated, brain-jangling tales of debauchery, sex & drugs, transcendence & chemical dependence you will ever want to hear."

Tyler, 63, also says that he did drugs with guitarist Joe Perry in 2008 after many years of both of them being sober.

“Joe Perry was so impaired by snorting prescription pills, he couldn't even play his instrument. But I was no better - I couldn't sing.”

Tyler says he is sober now and enjoying his time as the newest American Idol judge, and would like to get the guys of Aerosmith back together for another run at making an album.

Tyler last appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone's Magazine in the August 1976 issue.

Foo Fighters & The Beatles

If you haven't seen or heard this, and you're a Foo Fighters & Beatles fan (like I am), this is pretty darn cool.

The Foo Fighters did a show on the stage of the Ed Sullivan Theater from exactly the same place the Beatles performed 45+ years earlier (Where David Letterman's show is taped every night). The Foo Fighters dressed like the Beatles, used a Beatles-esque drum riser, and paid tribute to them in another odd way.

Dave Grohl took off his shoes.

April 7, 1966…At Abbey Road studios in London, the Beatles recorded overdubs for John Lennon's "Tomorrow Never Knows" and Paul McCartney's "Got to Get You Into My Life" for their forthcoming "Revolver" album.

Love "Revolver." Some say it's the best album of all time. This is how it was received at the time it came out...

With a Little Luck

On this day in 1978, Paul McCartney & Wings released the song "With a Little Luck." In retrospect, this is a pretty cheesy song, but when it first came out I absolutely loved it.

I was a freshman in high school in Germany, and at that time Europe was a musical wasteland. The biggest band was ABBA, Disco was huge, and we couldn't get our hands on good old fashioned pop/rock songs unless they were from huge stars like Paul McCartney.

So, even though it's slightly cheesy, I still have a soft spot for this one. I never saw the video though. It's even cheesier than the song...
