WTOP in Washington is the top billing station in the country. It billed $60 million last year.
Just another indication that radio's death has been exaggerated.
WTOP, by the way, is a rarity--an all-news FM station. Earlier this year I interviewed somebody that works there. Former WLS-Chicago icon Ron Riley. He's a weatherman on WTOP now.
In case you're wondering, the top billing station in Chicago is our own all-news station, WBBM-AM, which brought in a cool $42.5 million. WGN isn't far behind, but is just out of the national top ten.
